This Online Privacy Policy applies to information about you that Responsible Gambling Affiliate Associate (“RGAA,” “we,” “our,” “us”) may obtain when you visit www.rgaa.org (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy describes how we may collect, use, or share information about you; your choices regarding our use of your information; how we safeguard such information; and how you may contact us regarding our privacy practices.

Collection of Personal Information

We collect several types of information from and about users of the Site, including the following:

While using the website, you may voluntarily provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal information”). Personal information may include, but is not limited to your name, postal address, email address, telephone number, area of interest, any feedback, questions, or recommendations you provide and any other identifier by which you may be contacted online or offline.  We may invite comments, questions, or feedback on certain public areas of Site. If you provide information directly to us in other ways, such as by sending us an email, we may retain that information and add it with the other information we have collected from you.

In addition, our web servers may automatically collect and log web usage data and other information from you when you visit the Site.  This information, including the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the device you use to access the Sites, referring site, pages viewed and length of visit, informs us about how visitors use and navigate our Sites.  We may also use a third party service to track trends and Site usage.

We may use the personal information we collect to provide and maintain our Site, such as to ensure the integrity of our members information.  We may also use the information we collect to:

  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our Site;
  • Improve the Site, our marketing, or services we may offer;
  • Deliver membership content to you;
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal process, as well as industry standards and our company policies;
  • Prevent, investigate, identify, stop, or take any other action with regard to suspected or actual fraudulent or illegal activity, or any activity that violates our policies;
  • Communicate with you about events offered by RGAA and others, and provide news and information we think will be of interest to you;
  • Protect the rights and property of RGAA and others; and

In general, information you submit to us is used either to respond to requests that you make, or to aid us in serving you better. The Firm also uses your information to respond to your inquiries and improve the Website.  We reserve the right to use and disclose anonymous and aggregate data to third party companies for any purpose in our sole discretion.  If you provide feedback on any of our services to us, we may use such feedback for any purpose, provided we will not associate such feedback with your information.

Disclosure of Your Information

Except as set forth in this privacy policy, we do not sell or share the personally identifiable information we collect on the Sites with non-affiliated third parties for their own use.  However, we will provide personally identifiable information to non-affiliated third parties in response to subpoenas, court orders, or to otherwise comply with law, to protect our interests or when we believe in good faith the law requires it.

We may also use third-party suppliers and service providers to fulfill the services offered on our Sites and may make personal information (including financial data) available to them to the extent necessary for them to provide services to us (for example, to process a credit card payment or ship you a product).  We do not store credit card data on our Sites.

In addition, we may use and share with others aggregated and/or anonymous (not personally identifiable) information that we have collected based on our users’ use of the Sites.

You may opt out of receiving promotional emails from RGAA by following the instructions in those emails.  If you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional emails, such as those about your membership or our ongoing business relations.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, California law may provide you with additional rights regarding our use of your personal information.

California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of the Website that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information on the Site from children under the age of 13.  If we learn that we have personally identifiable information on a child under the age of 13 we will delete that information.

Data Security

RGAA takes reasonable measures to protect information we collect from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Nevertheless, transmission via the Internet and online digital storage are not completely secure and RGAA does not guarantee the security of your information collected through the Site.

We store the information we collect on you for as long as is necessary for the purpose(s) for which we originally collected it, or for other legitimate business purposes, including to meet our legal, regulatory, or other compliance obligations.

Linked Websites

The Site may include links to websites that are owned and/or operated by third parties.  This Privacy Policy does not apply to those websites, which may have their own privacy policies or notices that you should review to understand how they may use or disclose your personal information. RGAA is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any linked websites that are operated by third parties.

The Site may also provide links to websites operated by RGAA, our affiliates, and our subsidiaries.  Unless indicated otherwise, these websites are not governed by this Privacy Policy. For information on how these websites may collect, use, or disclose your personal information, we encourage you to review the privacy policies posted on the linked websites.

The Site may offer social sharing features and other integrated tools (such as the Facebook “Like” button), which let you share actions you take on our Site with other media.  Your use of such features enables the sharing of information with your friends or the public, depending on the settings you establish with the entity that provides the social sharing feature.  For more information about the purpose and scope of data collection and processing in connection with social sharing features, please visit the privacy policies of the entities that provide these features.

Non-U.S. Visitors to the Site

Please note that the Site is directed towards users who reside in the United States.  It is not our intent to gather personally identifiable information from individuals residing outside of the United States.  If you are located outside of the United States, the information you provide to RGAA will be transferred to the United States whose laws may not provide the same level of protection for personal information as your home country.  By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

RGAA reserves the right to change this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices. Any changes to the RGAA privacy policy, including information collected and the use and disclosure of information, will be posted here. Following any modification, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this privacy policy, so be sure to check back periodically for the most current version of our privacy policy.
